of the Redwoods Horse Rescue invites you to the…
2nd Annual
Youth Equine Playday
At Redwood Acres
June 27th

This
event will be an exciting day of games on horseback for children 17 and
under! Although no one will go home empty handed, prizes will be awarded
to the winners in each class, and there will be an overall high point
award. Horse and rider may participate
in any clothing or tack you wish, but an ASTM/SEI approved helmet is
required. Formal attire is not encouraged. No stallions
will be allowed to participate. Please note that this event is
during the Redwood Acres Fair. Only one child/guardian will be
allowed into the fair on the day of the event free of charge. We
look forward to having a great fun-filled day!
SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

Red Light Green Light – traditional |

Simon Says – traditional |
3. |
|
Cup of Water – The rider with
the most water remaining in their cup wins. Trotting or cantering
may be required. |
4. |
|
Trotting Race – a typical race
at the trot |
5. |
|
Catalogue Race – This is a timed
race. Riders will randomly choose a number, ride to a barrel
and dismount. They then search a catalogue/phone book for
their number, rip out the page and race back to the finish line. |
6. |
|
Trot, Canter, Lead – This is
a times race. The 1st lap, rider and horse walk. The
2nd lap, rider and horse trot. The last lap, rider runs leading
the horse. |
7. |
|
Dollar Bill Ride – Rider’s
ride bareback sitting on a paper bill. The last one still
sitting on their bill wins. Trotting will be required. |
